ND have as part of our Focus program undertaken many unique products which you can’t get anywhere else. One of these is our unique deck brace. This supports the open deck liner assembly for anyone doing a forged build or replacing the head gasket. It drops straight into the stock block with NO machining unlike other braces.

The part will need to be lightly fettled to get a snug fit though as we make it a small amount oversize. Additionally it may be slightly warped from manufacturing, this does NOT matter as the support is fitted below the deck face, NOT against the head gasket. It ONLY supports the cylinders laterally due to high combustion pressure.

The deck brace supports the liners to the outside wall of the block which reduces movement and flex on power, making for a more secure head gasket seal and liner reliability on higher than stock power builds. It does NOT form part of the head gasket seal, so its surface finish does NOT matter, its final resting place is just below the head gasket level.
